Pastor Matt has served Atonement Lutheran since July, 2022. He hails from Stevens Point, Wisconsin, home of the world's largest trivia contest. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (2010) where he studied Philosophy and Religious Studies. He spent summers during his college years working at Crossways Camping Ministries in Central Wisconsin. After graduation, he spent a year as a volunteer with Lutheran Volunteer Corps in Oakland, CA. He went on to serve for two years as Coordinator of Christian Education at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church in Wausau, WI. In 2018, he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA. Before coming to Green Bay, Pastor Matt served First Lutheran Church in St. James, MN for four years.

Pastor Matt is married to Becky, who teaches Elementary School English Language Learners (ELL). They are the proud parents of a 4 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. Pastor Matt loves to read, hike, play guitar, sing, and be out on the water. In the winter he enjoys curling and any outdoor activity that isn’t shoveling.
