This is my story. This is my song.

James 1:2-4 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

The book of James is one of my favorites. It’s faith in action – the outward, living faith. Some might say, that’s the hard faith. It’s living every single day, the faith you practice Sunday morning. In times of uncertainty, when we must hold ourselves accountable for being that living faith, James reminds us that these are the times God has prepared us for. In fact, we have been in training for this since He called us by name. We know what to do! In faith, we are well equipped. We pray. We trust. We love. We remember our baptism, and the peace that it brings.

As we strive to be steadfast, we search for ways to be the church, even when we aren’t in a worship space together. As the song says, “I am the church! You are the church! We are the church together!” We are together in Christ, whether we are under the same roof or not. With that, the Re Imagine Church team invites you to participate in This is my story. This is my song. So, what is it we are asking you to do?

Think of a hymn that means something to you. One that speaks to your personal faith story. Maybe it’s simply a hymn you enjoy singing Sunday morning, but why do you enjoy it? Then, take a few minutes to write up your response, or record a video explaining what the song means to you and your faith. As responses come in, we will share them on our website and Facebook page, to enrich our church body, even when we are apart.

Responses can be emailed to: catekopkey@atonementlutheran.church or through Facebook messenger!

Can’t wait to see what you send!

Blessings Abound,

Cate & The Re Imagine Team
